The Artificial Stupidity called Amazon support

My mother was asking me about this whole AI thing, and my take on it as a technical person.

I in-turn asked her back, "What was your last experience with AI like?"

"Well", she said, "The only times I deal with AI is when I need customer support. The last time I used it was with Amazon. I wanted to report that the product I ordered was not delivered. I was not able to explain this to the AI chatbot and could not register a support request."

"Oh, so what did you do then?"

"I submitted a request to return the product and when the return pickup guy came over, I told him that I haven't received the product and so could not return it."

"Did it work?"

"Yeah, the disgruntled delivery guy came the next day and threw the package at my door"

I shrugged and smiled, and she understood everything she needed to about AI.
