My Statement on AI usage
I know many people will not like this, but I use AI.
I use local models with llama.cpp.
My usage is very similar to google searches, and I do this because the internet content quality is decaying by the minute.
I do not task the models with stuff that plagiarizes other people's work - mostly its language syntax queries or short functions that do common things like listing files.
I am deeply familiar with the joy of coding and will never let AI take that away from me. I read every line I produce and understand the codebase in great detail.
The other reason I have AI on my system is that I want an offline encylopedia in case the internet goes all rogue with surveillance or goes kaput.
The models I use stress the GPU less than the games I play so I know I'm not having much impact on the environment.
I don't like agentic systems and don't use them at all.
